Overview​

The Ethereal Offering DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) is where the community makes collective decisions about the project's future. Through governance, you:

  • Vote on proposals using our ETHO tokens and role NFTs
  • Submit our own proposals for community consideration
  • Oversee the treasury and fund allocation
  • Earn role NFTs through participation
  • Shape the future of the ecosystem

Access Requirements​

DAO Access​

The DAO is accessible by invitation only or through specific NFT ownership.

Access Granted:

"You have been granted access to the DAO. Proceed to participate in governance!"

Access Restricted:

"The DAO is accessible by invitation only. Contact a steward for access."

How to Get Access​

  1. Hold ETHO tokens — Minimum threshold may be required
  2. Hold specific NFTs — Certain rare mushrooms or Proof of Burn NFTs grant access
  3. Earn through participation — Active community members receive invitations
  4. DAO proposal — Community can vote to grant access
  5. Contact a steward — Request access via Discord or Telegram

Mycelial Democracy​

Our governance follows Wu-wei principles — proposals flow naturally, no forceful agendas. Like a mycelial network, the community acts interconnected, supportive, and resource-sharing.

How Governance Works​

Step 1: Earn Voting Power​

Voting power comes from:

  1. ETHO tokens — 1 ETHO = 1 vote (or weighted by DAO parameters)
  2. Role NFTs — Special governance powers (Minister, Treasury Guardian, etc.)
  3. Proof of Burn NFTs — Higher tiers grant more voting weight
  4. Participation history — Active members may receive bonuses
  5. Delegation — Others can delegate their votes to you

Step 2: Submit Proposals​

Anyone can propose initiatives aligned with our values

How to submit:

  1. Navigate to the DAO Governance page
  2. Click "Create Proposal" button
  3. Fill out the proposal form:
    • Title: Clear, concise summary
    • Description: Detailed explanation (supports Markdown)
    • Type: Select proposal category (Treasury, Protocol, NFT, Partnership, etc.)
    • Requested Amount: If treasury allocation (in ETHO, ETH, or USDC)
    • Duration: Voting period (usually 7-14 days)
  4. Review and submit
  5. Pay gas fee (ETH)

Proposal requirements:

  • Minimum ETHO holding or role NFT
  • Clear alignment with community values
  • Realistic budget and timeline
  • Community support (may require sponsors)

Step 3: Community Discussion​

Proposals are discussed in the Whispers Board

Discussion platforms:

  • Discord: #proposals channel
  • Telegram: Governance group
  • Forum: Dedicated proposal threads (if available)
  • Community calls: Weekly or bi-weekly governance meetings

Best practices:

  • Ask questions — Seek clarity before voting
  • Share concerns — Voice objections respectfully
  • Suggest improvements — Help refine proposals
  • Build consensus — Find common ground

Step 4: Voting Period​

Token holders vote using conviction voting or simple majority

How to vote:

  1. Navigate to Active Proposals section
  2. Click on a proposal to view details
  3. Read the full description and discussion
  4. Click "Vote" button
  5. Select our choice:
    • For — Support the proposal
    • Against — Oppose the proposal
    • Abstain — Counted for quorum but neutral
  6. Confirm transaction in wallet
  7. Our vote is recorded on-chain

Voting mechanisms:

  • Simple majority: >50% of votes must be "For"
  • Conviction voting: Longer you hold tokens, more weight our vote carries
  • Quadratic voting: Square root of tokens (reduces whale influence)
  • Quorum requirement: Minimum % of total voting power must participate

Note: Specific mechanism depends on proposal type and DAO parameters.

Step 5: Execution​

Approved proposals are executed transparently via smart contracts

Execution process:

  1. Voting period ends — Results are tallied
  2. Quorum check — Verify minimum participation met
  3. Result determination — For/Against/Abstain counted
  4. Timelock (optional) — Delay before execution (security measure)
  5. Smart contract execution — Proposal automatically executes on-chain
  6. Community notification — Results announced in all channels

For treasury allocations:

  • Funds transfer from treasury to designated address
  • Transaction is publicly visible on blockchain
  • Recipient provides updates on fund usage

Step 6: Treasury Allocation​

Funds distributed for scholarships, ceremonies, and community projects

Allocation categories:

  • Ceremonies: Psychedelic therapy, healing circles, rituals
  • Scholarships: Training, education, conference attendance
  • Real Estate: Land purchases, retreat centers, sanctuaries
  • Community Projects: Software, content, advocacy
  • Research: Scientific studies, outcome tracking
  • Partnerships: Collaborations, integrations, grants

Transparency:

  • All transactions on-chain
  • Regular treasury reports
  • Community oversight
  • Audit trails

Proposal Types​

💰 Treasury Allocation​

Fund scholarships, ceremonies, real estate, and community initiatives

Examples:

  • "Allocate $10,000 for psychedelic therapy scholarships"
  • "Purchase 5 acres of land for retreat center"
  • "Fund research on psilocybin-assisted recovery"

🔧 Protocol Changes​

Modify smart contract parameters, tokenomics, or governance rules

Examples:

Note: Protocol changes often require higher quorum and approval thresholds.

Role NFTs & Permissions​

Role NFTs are soulbound (non-transferable) and grant special governance powers and ceremonial access.

Spiritual guidance, ceremony facilitation, proposal sponsorship

Responsibilities:

  • Lead ceremonies and rituals
  • Provide spiritual guidance to community
  • Sponsor proposals aligned with mission
  • Mediate conflicts with compassion

Permissions:

  • Enhanced voting weight (2x-5x)
  • Ability to sponsor proposals
  • Access to all ceremonies
  • Treasury oversight role

How to earn:

  • Significant Proof of Burn offerings (Phoenix tier)
  • Demonstrated spiritual leadership
  • Community nomination + DAO vote

🔥 Flamekeeper​

Manages ritual burns, tracks offerings, maintains sacred fire

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Altar burn activity
  • Maintain ceremonial calendar
  • Guide new users through burn ritual
  • Track and celebrate major offerings

Permissions:

  • Moderate voting weight (1.5x-3x)
  • Access to burn analytics
  • Ability to create ceremonial proposals
  • Special recognition in community

How to earn:

  • Multiple Proof of Burn offerings (Gold tier+)
  • Consistent participation in ceremonies
  • Community nomination + DAO vote

🌿 Spore Sentinel​

Welcomes new members, guides onboarding, tracks gratitude

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and onboard new members
  • Answer questions and provide support
  • Track community gratitude and recognition
  • Maintain positive culture

Permissions:

  • Standard voting weight (1x-2x)
  • Access to onboarding tools
  • Ability to grant initial access (with limits)
  • Community recognition

  • Active community participation

🍇 Oracle of Fruit​

Interprets offerings, generates wisdom, guides integration

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and wisdom
  • Interpret community needs
  • Generate oracle phrases for NFTs
  • Guide integration practices

Permissions:

  • Enhanced voting weight (2x-4x)
  • Access to Oracle AI tools
  • Ability to create wisdom content
  • Special ceremonial access

💼 Treasury Guardian​

Oversees funds, reviews allocations, ensures transparency

Responsibilities:

  • Review treasury proposals
  • Monitor fund deployment
  • Ensure transparency and accountability
  • Provide financial reports

Permissions:

  • High voting weight (3x-5x)
  • Multi-sig wallet access
  • Veto power on treasury proposals (with limits)
  • Financial oversight tools

How to earn:

  • Significant Proof of Burn offerings (Phoenix tier)
  • Demonstrated financial responsibility
  • Community trust + DAO vote
  • Background check (for multi-sig access)

⚡ Validator​

Runs nodes, maintains network, ensures security

Responsibilities:

  • Run blockchain nodes (if applicable)
  • Monitor network health
  • Ensure security and uptime
  • Participate in technical governance

Permissions:

  • Technical voting weight (2x-4x)
  • Access to infrastructure tools
  • Ability to propose technical upgrades
  • Revenue share from network fees

Troubleshooting​

"I don't have access to the DAO"​

Solution:

  1. Check if you hold access-granting NFTs or ETHO
  2. Contact a steward via Discord or Telegram
  3. Participate in community to earn invitation
  4. Submit a request through official channels

"My vote didn't count"​

Possible causes:

  • Insufficient voting power
  • Voting period ended
  • Transaction failed
  • Tokens locked or delegated

Solution:

  1. Verify you have voting power
  2. Check voting period is still active
  3. Confirm transaction on block explorer
  4. Ensure tokens are in our wallet (not staked elsewhere)

"How do I earn a role NFT?"​

Process:

  1. Participate actively in the community
  2. Demonstrate alignment with values
  3. Contribute meaningfully (offerings, proposals, support)
  4. Wait for community nomination
  5. DAO votes on granting the role
  6. Role NFT is minted to our wallet (soulbound)
